[TN-Bird] First white-throated sparrow and sandhill cranes (Roane Co.)

While the neighbors were sighting in their deer rifles today (which was making
both my housemate and the birds a bit twitchy), I spotted the winter's first
White-throated sparrow feeding in my driveway. It came in with a little knot of
Song sparrows that has been feeding in the pasture where the shooting was going
on. A bit later, I heard 3 Sandhill cranes calling as they headed down the
river toward Hiwassee. That is still one of the most wonderful sounds I've ever
heard.
