Below is an eBird list of species observed and numbers counted in
western Putnam County this morning (20 May 2010); the total for Cerulean
Warbler is the highest in the seven years that I have counted birds
along exactly the same 82-km-long route on either 19 or 20 May of each
year since 2004. Numbers for several other species, including American
Redstart, are also highest in 7 years; the total for Red-eyed Vireo
merely tied the highest previous total. All told--1899 birds counted in
6.75 hours (= 1 bird counted every 13 seconds).
