Henry County, TN
Saturday, March 19th
Afternoon listers....I saw my FOS Osprey today at the Stewart County High
School in Dover, TN this morning. The pair of Osprey's have returned to their
nest on top of the stadium lights there at the football field. We watched the
pair last year and were glad to see their assumed return.
On another note...I stopped in at Ft. Donnellson in Dover as well and observed
the nesting Eagle pair there. Both male and female were at the nest...one
sitting one standing a branch above. The ranger came up while I was there and
said that they believe from the bird's behaviors that an eaglet has hatched.
It will be at least a week or so before anyone will be able to "see" a
hatchling head or two to confirm. Another interesting observation was that
about 300 yds away in another tree sat an immature Eagle...we estimated to be a
3rd year bird by the mottled white head. The parent pair were none to happy
to have him in their territory...their voices could be heard through the Park.

Until next time,
Happy birding,
