Cates Landing Lake Co. Tn. Lake Dr. at Bluebank State Park While birding with Jon dunn and Brainard Palmer Ball on Dec. 2 we stopped at the Smiths field at Ctes Landing and walked it for a while. We did not kick up any Smiths but I almost stepped on a LeContes. There were several LeContes in the field plus the usual Savannah. I noted the lack of any Meadowlarks while we were there. While there we had a flock of Sandhill Cranes soaring above us with a large flock of Gulls, mostly Ringgers. Later I was looking for the Says Phoebe among the flock of Cedar Wax Wingsand Robins, when a really strange looking Cedar Waxwing appeared. Its head, neck and part of the back were a little lighter shade then the normal color of the head and the rest of the bird was white. The birds were all getting water out of the slough between Cypress Point Resort and Bluebank. Yesterday, I drove out to see the leucistic Least Sp. that Jeff and Mike had on Sat. It really stands out. The Bald Eagles are returning to Reelfoot Lake. We are having our 2nd Annual Eagle Festival on Jan. 13-14-15 2006. The schedule is on my web site at www.bluebasin.com Peace and joy in this Holiday season, Nancy Nancy Moore Bluebasin Cove B&B Reelfoot lake Lake Co, Tn =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to sign your messages with first and last name, city (town) and state abbreviation.
