definitive ID...Chris Sloan is on the bird now and feels it has some
characteristics that suggest Boat-tailed, which would be awesome! It will
be interesting to see what the final verdict is, but for now I'm going to
call it a possible Great-tailed.

Snow Bunting Peninsula, Old Hickory Lake

A worn female/juvenile type Great-tailed Grackle is currently at Snow
Bunting Peninsula in northern Davidson Co. The bird was first reported
this morning on Facebook and is still being seen as of 1:30 this
afternoon. Visually, it's very similar to a Boat-tailed, but fortunately
it vocalized several times, giving it's diagnostic "check" call. It spent
part of the time in the taller grass at the edge of the lake, but most of
the time it was content to wander around the point or perch on the benches
and garbage cans allowing for great looks.
