Concord Park, Knox Co. 12 July 2008, 9-11:30 a.m. hot and sunny Eleven birders met for a KTOS outing this morning at the Cove at Concord Park. The highlight of the day was three Brown-headed Nuthatches among the pine trees. We also saw a female Ruby-throated Hummingbird feeding on pine needles, and we had great looks at an Osprey and a few Eastern Kingbirds. Juvenile European Starlings filled a wild cherry tree and darted in and out of nest holes. We had flyovers from a Double-crested Cormorant and a Green Heron.
