3/16/2016. While birding at Seven Islands State Birding Park This afternoon I
encountered two common Ravens. They must have come down into the park but when
I saw them they were starting to ride the thermals up to a very high altitude
before heading south over Bays Mountain. This is one of just a very few reports
of common Ravens in Knox County. Mark Armstrong had several last fall as he
was setting up to do a banding session at Seven Islands.
Other FOY birds at Seven Islands today were 5 Lesser Scaup, 3 Blue-winged Teal
and 1 Rough-winged Swallow.
