I had a Common Ground-Dove in Dyer County at the jct. of Hwy 104 & Hwy 412,
just east of Dyersburg at about 12:30 pm. It was sitting on a communications
wire at the on-ramp for Hwy 412 near a small chain link fence area by a small
communications tower of some sort. I was already on the on ramp when I stopped.
I saw it fly to the ground and saw the chestnut in the wings. It was with some
Mourning Doves and bluebirds. I didn't have time to sit with the bird but it
just flew north up the fence row that parallels the Hwy 412N on-ramp just as I
was about to leave.
I just came back by the area around 3:00 pm and did not see the bird in that
area but there are lots of fence rows around where the bird could be.
I was able to get one decent digi-scoped pic of the bird as it sat in the
ground.
Good birding!
