I would just like to add my thanks to all the people that worked on this issue, sent in comments to TWRA and the commissioners, gave presentations or just showed up at the meetings yesterday and today. It was definitely a group effort, but special thanks goes to Melinda Welton, who got the ball rolling, did all the crane research, kept everybody informed through tn-bird and TOS newsletters and at TOS meetings, met with commissioners here and at Hiwassee Refuge during the crane festival, and gave a great presentation at the wildlife committee meeting yesterday. THANK YOU, Melinda! Of course we would have liked a definite vote of no hunting, but at least they voted for a postponement instead of voting for the hunt. Let's heed Cyndi's message below, and keep up the good work. Jan Shaw Nashville, TN In a message dated 1/21/2011 11:38:53 A.M.
