Coffee Co.
Left work this morning hoping to find some Pectoral Sandpipers or some
other shorebird after the two fronts came through this week. No luck. Found
plenty of ducks at the Hillsboro Pond on Hwy 41 between Hillsboro and the
Grundy Co. line. Best find there was a Ross's Goose and a bunch of Wilson
Snipe. Mallards, Green-winged Teal, N. Shovelers, and Gadwalls, and
Buffleheads also present. Headed over to Coker Rd and found a bunch of
Shovelers in a flooded field/pond and a Loggerhead Shrike on a wire almost
at the end of Coker Rd. Looked at various other ponds and flooded fields
in the area with the same ducks along with a few Tree Swallows. Was going
to hit a few other spots like Bedford Lake and Normandy Lake but after
working all night got tired so I came home and crashed. All results are
posted on eBird. Good birding
