Also a beautiful domesticated Bar-headed Goose was present with the Canada goose flock. (Betty and Jim Wampler, Kevin Calhoon) On March 9 two Lesser Yellowlegs, and one Pectoral Sandpiper were at the Brainerd Levee and a Tree Swallow was at Standifer Gap Marsh. (Marty Paige) Fourteen Sandhill Cranes were at the Levee on March 13. (Alberta Oliver) There is now some Peregrine Falcon activity below Chickamauga dam. Apparently a new female is present with the old male which has been present for several years. She looks to be a young bird with some immature plumage remaining. (Harold Sharp) This is still a great time to see the displaying American Woodcocks at the model airplane field on Moccasin Bend. The beeping starts about 7:00 EST. At least two males were in flight on March 6 and they are still being seen. (Kevin Calhoon) The next general meeting of the Chattanooga TOS will be on April 10 at 7:00 PM at the Accension Luthern Church 720 South Germantown Road. Spring migration is heating up. Get out in the Field and let me know what you see!! =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to sign your messages with first and last name, city (town) and state abbreviation. ----------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, simply send email to: tn-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send email to: tn-bird-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Topographical Maps located at http://topozone.com/find.asp * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the Tennessee Ornithological Society web site at http://www.tnbirds.org * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TN-Bird Net Owner: Wallace Coffey, Bristol, TN jwcoffey@xxxxxxxxxx (423) 764-3958 =========================================================
