Humphreys County
New Johnsonville
Clayton Ferrell
I set up a Plotwatcher trail camera on the milkweed this afternoon. Male
and female cardinals were the primary culprit with males accounting for
about 2/3rds of those present. I was able to identify at least 3 different
male cardinals. I did capture one mockingbird regurgitating a caterpillar.
He never showed up again, so he apparently learned from his experience,
unlike the cardinals!

The Plotwatcher camera is a pretty cool little camera. Unlike other trail
cameras it takes pictures continuously. It is set for 5 and 10 second
intervals but those settings can be changed. It only takes pictures during
daylight hours, but covers from about 30 minutes before to 30 minutes after
sunrise/sunset. In the end you watch the series of pictures as a film. They
are presently on sale for $139.99 (normally $200) with free shipping through
the attached link only. They are trying to sell off the old model before
the new ones come out. I received mine in three days after placing an
order.
