Sunday, 14 MAR 2004 Central Community, Carter Co., TN D. Holt In my yard this afternoon were two Chipping Sparrows, my first of the year. It made me happy to see them. I was also happy this morning to see a Pied-billed Grebe at Musick's Campground just before I left, because I badly needed a fourth grebe species for the day. Yeah, I finally got to see that mess of grebes they've been chortling over while I had to work all week. I only saw two Red-necked Grebes myself, but it was the best, closest and longest look I've ever had of that species. Also present: 4 Horned Grebes and 6 Eared Grebes, about half of each in breeding plumage.
