I intended to post GRHE (Green Herron) not GBHE (Great Blue Herron). Sorry about the confusion, my mistake. Alix Parks Tennessee Raptor Rescue Born to Bird Signal Mt. The City of E.R. removed the entire tree (I don't know why) on Wed. 7/11/12. I took into care 4 GBHE nestlings that were removed from the tree the same day from E.R. Animal Services via the Chattanooga Zoo. All 4 youngsters were in good condition, therefore they had been well attended over the week by the adults. We re-nested that afternoon in a temporary nest basket about 15' up in a nearby Willow. There were several adult and a few immature Greens in the immediate area & one flew by to check out the nest basket within a few minutes of our departure. The youngsters were still in pin feathers but were already climbing around on the branches. I believe the kids will be fine. Please give me a call at 423-847-5757 if you have any questions or to let me know if you have observed them. Green Herons nested on it, and I've seen a good number of other species there. I have no idea why they did that. Tim Jeffers East Ridge, Hamilton Co
