This morning I saw 4 male and one female Boblinks in the first field past the low water ford on Sparks Lane. One male was singing in the top of a cherry tree near a Blue grosbeak. It flew to join another male singing from blackberry canes. The birds flew to the horse pasture below the sewage ponds. Yellow-breasted chats were heard a numerous locations along the loop road. There were 6 broods of Wood ducks on the sewage ponds with approximately 40 ducklings observed. One male Yellow-rumped warbler was in the trees near the sewage ponds and a female Baltimore oriole was feeding in the flowers of a Tulip Poplar. I saw 36 species in about 45 minutes of birding. Butterflies were also very plentiful and I had great views of Tiger Swallowtails, Common Buckeye, Red-spotted Purple, Mourning Cloak, Pipevine Swallowtail, Virginia White, Pearl Crescent, Slivery Checkerspot, and Silver-spotted Skippers.
