The Cackling Goose was seen again this morning at Shelby Park in Nashville. To access the lake with the goose and a host of domestic waterfowl, exit I-24 at Shelby Avenue and take this road (Shelby Avenue)several miles south into the park. Proceed down the hill, and the lake will be on the left. There are about 100 Canada Geese in the flock with the Cackling Goose, which is roughly half the size of the Canadas. It is quite tame, and will allow close viewing for photos. There were also about 50 Ring-billed Gulls on the lake today. This is the same lake that attracted a Ross's Goose several winters ago.
