Vicki
Thank you for your wonderful posting!

And thank you to all the folks that supported the festival with your
contributions of time, funds, or good wishes.

I was a roaring success! Thousands of people came to see thousands of
cranes.

The Director of TWRA, Ed Carter came both Saturday and Sunday, and three
Commissioners joined him on Saturday. In addition there were several more
Commissioners that visited Hiwassee on Thursday before their commission
meeting in Chattanooga. We had exceptional support from many many within the
agency including the invaluable support and leadership of co-chair Dan
Hicks.

This was the biggest and best (in my humble opinion) crane festival in the
21 years of celebrating this wildlife phenomenon in Tennessee.

We¹ll give a more complete assessment of the festival in the next couple of
weeks, but for the time being, I¹m going to try and catch up on some overdue
Cerulean Warbler work!

One last thing, I want to especially thank co-chair Cyndi Routledge for her
tireless work on this festival. I can honestly say that we couldn¹t have had
this level of success without her! (I wish her and Dan¹s photo had made it
on the blog, but be assured we¹ll have a photo gallery up on the
tncranefestival.org website in the near future.)

Subject: [TN-Bird] Blog Report on TN Sandhill Crane Festival

Attached is the link to my current blog post featuring the TN Sandhill Crane
Festival. A special thank you to Melinda Welton, Cyndi Routledge and Dan
Hicks for their coordination of this event and to the many other volunteers
that made the event go so smoothly.

Many, many hours of hard work behind the scenes enabled this spectacular
event to take place benefiting both wildlife conservation and the many
people who attended the event.
