[TN-Bird] Re: Birders Parking in Road in Blount County

Marcia,

I'm the guilty party.  Or at least I'm likely the one to whom they
refer.

I'm assuming this was the SUV or minivan with 2 or 3 people who drove
by at about 45 MPH (!), shouted obscenities and flipped me the bird. 
Hmmpf.

I was pulled off the road as far as is possible, and my 8 or 10 trips
there, I have been passed by about 6-7 cars and 2 tractors.  Most of
these people have given me a friendly wave, and 3 people have stopped
to inquire.  After brief, friendly conversations 2 of them took some
looks through my scope.  I'm not sure what kind of bug was up the
backside of those people in the SUV...

I agree we need to practice good ettiquette, and I would never
consider parking on part of a road that had any traffice, or where
the visibility wasn't as extensive as it is on this straight, rural
road.
