Cove Island/Lyons Bend Knox Co. Today I observed a Blue-gray Gnatcher feeding on the ground in one of the yards in Craig Cove. I had previously seen a Gnatcatcher a block from here on November 12th. Yesterday (12/9/2006), in a blackberry/goldenrod patch on Cove Island, I observed a Nashville Warbler for approximately a minute from 25' feet: gray head constrasting with bright yellow breast with a closed eye-ring, bright yellow undertail coverts, olive-green back with no wingbars. Today (12/10) when I returned I found the bird in the same place feeding on dried goldenrods or perhaps some insect on tne goldenrods. Also, today, I could see across the lake in Blount County a pair of Bald Eagles standing on the nest they built at least 3 years ago. -Susan Hoyle Knoxville, TN =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
