[TN-Bird] Bald Eagle - Bledsoe Creek - Sumner County

January 9, 2011 - Old Hickory Lake - Sumner County
While I was leading a hike at Bledsoe Creek State Park this afternoon, our
group encountered a mature bald eagle near the end of the Shoreline Trail --
just before the trail climbs to the high bluffs.  We actually heard the
eagle take off before we saw it; it was below us near the water and it flew
up, made a large semi-circle, and then headed south toward where the
lake/creek narrows.  First bald eagle I've seen in the Bledsoe Creek area.
