The terrible rains in Nashville this weekend are over. With the sun shining
and a lot of hard work we can begin getting back to normal.

Not normal was my "backyard birding" this morning. In rubber boots, I
circled my house with binoculars and observed an incredible number of birds
flitting about in trees and bushes as well as overhead.

Here's a list of what I saw and heard during a one hour period this morning:

Number of species: 35

Black-crowned Night-Heron 1 (flyover)
Mourning Dove 3
Yellow-billed Cuckoo 1
Chimney Swift 6
Red-bellied Woodpecker 2
Great Crested Flycatcher 1
White-eyed Vireo 1
