Yesterday, (May 23) Glen Criswell, Betty and I birded western Dyer County and
northern Lake County.
It is fairly dry in this area. The only shorebird habitat was at White Lake
and along 103 just east of Great River Road.

There is a fair amount of water in White Lake and we had 6 Dunlin, 20
White-rumped Sandpipers, 40 Semipalmated Sandpipers, 16 Pectoral, 5
Semipalmated Plovers, 1 Stilt Sandpiper and 5 Least. We also had a good
mixture of land birds.

Of most interest was a female Anhinga which stayed in the same area all the
while we were there. In May and June of last year we regularly had a female
Anhinga in the same area.
