Cocke county, 4/3/12, 6-8 PM, by car
Douglas lake elevation: 973.2 ft. - still below Rankin

Highlights:
-Ten Islands (from Browns Hollow Rd) 6:30-7PM:
Northern shoveler (4)
Great blue heron (18)
Osprey (2 nesting on silo)
Bald eagle (juv,)
Ring-billed gull (24)

-Rankin Bottoms, 7-8 PM:
Wood Duck (5)
Gadwall (8)
Blue-winged teal (10)
Green-winged teal (20
Ring-necked duck (4)
Bufflehead
American Bittern
Osprey (3, one near ragged nest in cottonwood)
Lesser yellowlegs

-Also noted osprey nest on southernmost silo at Dutch Bottoms, and another on a utility pole near Skoal Barn on Industrial Rd.,
that makes a total of 10 active osprey nests in Cocke county so far this year.
