Tuesday, May 17, 2011 Trenton, Gibson County I came home at lunch today and just as was getting ready to turn into the driveway a flycatcher flew across the road in front of me and perched up on a snag. I watched it for a few minutes in my binoculars and it sat up and sang several times before flying away. This is my 2nd record for this species in the yard. I stopped in front of my yard as I was leaving to pick up some trash than someone had donated to me and heard a Lark Sparrow singing. I never saw the bird but it was singing from the field across the road from me. This is also my 2nd time for this species. Orchard Oriole and Blue Grosbeaks are singing almost constantly now and occasionally a Summer Tanager joins the chorus. Good birding, Mark Greene Trenton, TN Gibson County =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
