Today (Tuesday) about 7:00 p.m. a second mature male Ruby-throated Hummingbird
came to the opposite side of the feeder where the one that arrived Friday was
drinking. When the first bird saw him, he immediately went on the attack and
drove him away. But we have feeders spaced around the deck and the new arrival
found one out of sight of the one by the picture window and got some needed
sugar water before dark. We also had two Yellow-rumped Warblers in the yard
today, so this storm must have encouraged some movement into our area. Maybe
it will bring some hummers who have learned to share!
