I've noticed on ours that power is pulled from both power supplies. If I
yank power to one of them, then the amount of power drawn from the
remaining power supply is increased. Like you said, though... it
shouldn't ever pull more than 625.

 

APC has a sizing tool on their website which will allow you to select
your components that you want on battery and make a recommendation based
on your input.

Redundant power is normally to allow one power supply to fail and allow
the server to continue running without interruption. Thus you should not
have more then 625 watt load.

Trying the calculate my UPS needs . If I have two (redundant) 625 watt
power supplies in a server, do they pull 625X2 watts of power. Or is one
a backup?
