?????"page swaps were going between 80-100%"?????

What the heck can you measure page swaps as a percentage of? (Maybe
percentage of total disk I/O but I doubt that is what you meant). Just a
wild hunch here, but maybe the problem isn't paging. If 28% of memory means
28% of that 2GB RAM, it certainly isn't. If 28% is 28% of your maximum page
file size, and that max size is at least 8GB, then maybe...

Go back and look at the counters in the performance monitor again. Be sure
to click on the "explain" button when adding items so you are clear on what
they mean.

Subject: [THIN] major page swaps

Hello all,

I've got a MF XP 1.0 server SP2, FR2 that is a Compaq Proliant DL360
with 2 GB RAM.

I've got a number of published apps on the server, and for period of
time, the page swaps were going between 80-100%. The %memory in use
counter was staying consistent at 28%. We were thinking it was a
problem with our time clock program Timestar and either it's interaction
with Abra or a memory leak, but none of the users that were using the
apps at the time were doing anything out of the ordinary. We're not
sure where to turn and would appreciate any help!

TIA,
Mike
