This is actually a great question.. and one I cannot answer.

When I push out the patches, they go into the Task Scheduler. Task =
Scheduler is logged in as system, and I have the service set up by the =
domain admin. Everything has reportedly installed correctly.. the next =
time I run HFNetChk, it sees the correct Registry entries to say the =
patch has been installed, and Task Scheduler reports no errors.

If you're concerned, write a batch file to switch it to install mode, =
then set hfnetchk to push the patches about 5 minutes after the batch =
file switches over. Set it to reboot right after, and when the server =
comes back up, it will be back in execute mode.

Do you need to be, or want to be, in "install mode" when you do the =
updates
this way?

I've been running HFNetChklt since they came out with allowing all free =
=3D
updates.. and it's much more gui-friendly (a little difficult to =3D =
maneuver at
first, but eventually you find what you need). =3D20

C'mon, It's FREE up to 500 computers. The deployments are much easier =
=3D
then going to each computer & running the Windows Update. =3D

Hi
What methods do people use to keep large numbers of Terminal / Citrix =
Servers
up to date with service packs, hotfixes etc?

I am particularly interested in people's thoughts about running Windows =
Update?
Is anybody allowing the Automatic Update Control Panel to =3D update =
Microsoft
Hotfixes automatically?

Regards

Andy C.
