The core of R2 has been rewritten, so a lot of the system architecture is very different. I'm thinking a fair chunk of XA5 not working on R2 is to do with the introduction of RDP version 7 in R2 which replaces 6.1 in 2008 and other changes surrounding Remote Desktop Services for 2008 R2 From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Berny Stapleton Sent: Thursday, 3 December 2009 7:30 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Windows 2008 autorun for MPS not calling xenapp installer?! I didn't get it to go, the biggest problem that I saw was that a lot of the XenApp 5.0 (Even FR2) components identify as 32bit apps, even when running on a 64bit system. Apparently the 32bit layer is removed from 64bit systems, but I had a 32bit app running the other day... So maybe it's just 32bit interfaces to the kernel and usermode works fine. Haven't done any digging into this subject just yet. Berny 2009/12/3 James Scanlon <scanjam@xxxxxxxxxxx> so even if it isnt supported by citrix can it be installed anyway? or would the installer simply look and go 'hahah r2 forget it' and then quit out..? sigh ________________________________ From: joe.shonk@xxxxxxxxx To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Windows 2008 autorun for MPS not calling xenapp installer?! Any ideas what im doing wrong - its the windows 2008 all versions DVD just freshly d/loaded from citrix. James ________________________________ Check out Domain Radar NOW!
