Are you pingin the Domain servers by IP or FQDN? IF by IP, and DNS does
not work, you may need to explicitly tell the server how to get to the
DNS server (Using ROUTE ADD...).

BTW, if you're doing what I think you are - conencting the External NIC
direct to a DSL line, then I wouldn't. Make life easier and securer; get
a small DSL Router/Firewall and put that on your LAN in NAT mode.

If you must do this, though, you will need to put default gateways on
each NIC poiting at the other one; you will also need to explicitly set
up routing between the two; Windows isn't a great routing platform, in
my experience.

Subject: [THIN] Windows 2003 and dual NICs

All,

I want to connect a 2003 server to my DSL line. I have two NICs. The
purpose is to make this a Metaframe server. When I add a 2nd default
gateway, 2003 tries to protect me from myself and tells me it won't
work.
Which NIC should have the default gateway (internal network or external
network)? I am thinking the external connected NIC and then static
routes to the servers the users need to get to. Problem is that when I
do this, I can not find any domain controllers to login. I log in
locally and can
ping the domain controllers. Any ideas?
