If you shadow the user, can you manually map the printer?

That's just it - I don't see any mapping on the server itself. If i do a
START|SETTINGS|PRINTERS, I do see entries for the other clients who are
connected, and their printers. But I don't see anything at all for this
user. Doesn't look like it's being created at all.
