Ok, now this is weird

Copied all the files to a new floppy disk. Made no changes whatsoever.
All works..

Years ago, I once remember thinking how good it will be when we finally
get rid of DOS......

Thanks for your help guys!

Looking at one of my old boot disks, I load the emm386 memory manager /
mapper:-

device=a:\net\emm386.exe (in config.sys)

I also load dos high, and in upper memory block:-

DOS=HIGH,UMB (in config.sys)

See if that works?

Also, I have nothing like the same number of net calls you have, I just
have:-

net initlialize
nwlink (don't ask, it was a dark time in my life, I'm OK now apart from
the scars and the flashbacks... ;-)) net logon

then a net use.
