netsvc.exe from the NT resource kit works good also. Xnet from the NT resource kit will work well also. Does anyone have a good command-line tool other than subinacl.exe to do service and registry permissions? How do I stop / start a service on = a r e mote server? You could also use psexec from SysInternals (http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/pstools.shtml) It enables you to execute a command line on a remote server. Sorry. How do I stop / start a service on a remote server? This should be simple. I want to stop a service on a remote W2K server before backup it up. NET STOP doesn't seem to give me a remote server = name option. I know it's probably simple but my plate of work is very full = today. Can anyone help?
