1. Activate the licensing server.
2. DO NOT ADD any licenses to it. Before connecting to the TSs using
anything, BACKUP the LSERVER directory on the licensing server.
3. Before connecting to the TS from each PC, delete the registry key
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\MSLicensing on the PC.
4. After deleting the key, open a session to the TS and do whatever you
need.
5. After all is done, get rid of the PCs, install the Thin Clients.
6. Restore the LSERVER directory to the licensing server and finally add the
licenses to it.

This should work.

Subject: [THIN] Quick question on resetting Device CALS

Hi all

I am setting up a new environment with TS2003... The 2003 Terminal server
has just expired on the 120 grace period, two days before all the thin
clients arrived

Along with the Thin clients came the Device CALs

In order to transfer everyone over from their PC I was going to login at
each PC and transfer their files over to the terminal server and then test
the TS login was working the same way as the PC and then replace the PC with
a Thin client

If I had user CALs this would not have been a problem,

So The question....

Can I reset Device CALs immediately or do I need to transfer all the data
outside the TS system

Thanks Nick
