Thanks Rick
I have already implemented that work around
A batch file which runs every morning at about 5 am as a windows secluded
task
That's why I'm getting confused.

Hi Raj,

2 possible scenarios here.

If the spool\printers directory is filling up with with *.tmp files, then
you're using lpr and users haven't got w/r access to the printers
directory.

If it's *shd and *spl files then it could be an issue with the HP print
monitors.

An easy temporary workaround is a simple batch file that cleans things up.
Schedule it for a nighttime run.
eg

net stop spooler
del /q %systemroot%\system32\spool\printers\*.*
net start spooler

Rick

Subject: [THIN] Printers taking way tooo long to print

I have a client that is having Spooler Issues.
Everyday the remote branches are ringing the helpdesk with printer issue "
taking a long time to print sometimes up to 5 minutes"
Helpdesk staff stop the spooler clear the spooler dir in windoze system 32
dir.
This stops the call for the day. but the next day same thing appears.

Client is using win 2003 with Citrix Presentation server in xpa mode...
The printer in use are HP LaserJet 6p using LaserJet 6p driver and OKI DOT
MATRIX using Epson compatible driver.
Any Ideas...
