Well you can use ADSI and the LDAP provider to query exchange.

To help you, you'd probably be best served getting an LDAP browser, and
pointing it at one of your exchange servers.

Simply to extract LDAP information, you shouldn't necessarily need
something like CDO, but you may need ADO, if you're going to have to
search.
