This behavior is configurable. By default (at least in NT4 TSE) they will
get a warning saying their roaming profile is older than their local and
they can choose what to do.

Subject: [THIN] OT regarding user folders

I have had a significant dats disaster - details too long to go into.
One of the pieces of data that I have lost is all my user profiles. I
have a backup from last Wednesday. Can someone confirm that if I restore
last Wednesday's , when a user logs on or off it will compare the
Profile on the TS they log onto with the profile on the Server, and use
whichever is most recent: also that when they log off, if the current
profile is more recent then it will overwrite the one on the server.

I need to make a decision in the next 2 hours or so whether I should
restore these files, so any prompt help would be appreciated.

Nick
