Could try the Wyse 9650 but you need codecs and it struggles with any serious video and sound.
Next on is the new Wyse Video Clients... Like a sky digital box I think, run XPe, can plug into projectors, has a remote control and can work as a thin client (obviously).
Might be equivalents in the Neoware world too.

Well as to the codec thing, VLC should play the DVD - it's what I use, the odd time when I actually look at DVDs on my PC (normally, just very briefly before decrypting, and re-encoding to other formats).

Bitrate for commercial or DVD quality mpeg video I would have thought would be largely untenable over the wire to a thin client session.
