HI Ron, Many of the new cheap multi-function devices are GDI printers (no smarts, not networkable). The only way you'll have any success with them is to use some sort of universal printer driver. Check out thinprint, uniprint, simply printing (tricerat), emrgent online (www.go-eol.com) etc. Regards, Rick Ulrich Mack rmack@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx=20 Volante Systems 18 Heussler Terrace, Milton 4064=20 Queensland Australia.=20 tel +61 7 3246 7704=20 -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]=20 Sent: Thursday, 8 April 2004 5:58 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] MFD Printers on TS2003 - Any success out there Well, we just installed a month ago a new TS2003 for 50 users to replace the existing TS2000. Only have been testing with a handful of users and all is looking good, they are loving the new look, stability etc. Now, they are asking about remote printers (about 20 home/remote users) and if they will work. =3D20 Has anyone had success using the MultiFunctionDevices from HP or other? Yeah, I know - I personally despise those as well - more trouble than they are worth, but our remote users are getting them for fax/scanning & printing. My understanding now in TS2003, any USB printer will work but those DOT4's will NOT. =3D20 Do I need to hunt down a MFD that installs as a USB and not a DOT4? I can only use native RDP printing (i.e. cannot push Tricerat etc - too costly for client) =3D20 Regards, Ron Jameson Hamlin Technologies ******************************************************** This Week's Sponsor - RTO Software / TScale What's keeping you from getting more from your terminal servers?
