Hi Dave, Default behaviour for the ICA client is that it shares the clipboard contents between the TS session and the ICA client clipboard. SO if you dump a whole lot of data into the clipboard (eg a screen capture), that data will be background synchronised between the terminal server (metaframe) and the ICA client. This takes time and in the case of Excel for example, will cause a clipboard access timeout. There is an application compatibility flag you can set to handle the timeout a bit more elegantly. Easiest thing to do is to use the win2k version of CMPTMAN to make an app flag entry for your application, just copy the excel settings. Otherwise, run up regedt32 (not regedit) and navigate to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Terminal Server\Compatibility\Applications. Create a key with the same name as your application executable (less the extension, eh MYAPP.exe, create MYAPP key). Now save the EXCEL key, and restore it to your "application" key (eg as in example MYAPP). That may fix your issues. The other course of action you have is to disable the shared clipboard (mfcfg > ica-tcp > client settings > disable client clipboard mapping. The only scenario where I enable the shared clipboard is when users are running published apps where they need to be able to cut and paste between them and local apps. Otherwise it can cause significant performance hits and timeout issues on WAN connections. Now the issue is that "randonmly" the users clipboard gets cleared before they get chance to paste this. I'm guessing that Citrix is having some kind of contention and wins over the user. As this NEVER fails on a local instance of the program. Is there a hotfix / reg entry to protect the users clipboard contents ?... If not.. could someone explain the circumstances in which the users clipboard gets emptied - or do I need to write with another func ?.
