You can use a PRF file to specify where it gets created the first time a
user who hasn't connected to the server before logs in. You can get this
from the Office resource kit. (ork)

Most times, I'll set a terminal server home directory, and force the *.pst
file to go there. You'll find that getting the PST file out of the profile
makes login times much quicker.

I'm not sure about automating a change like that to all users who already
have a working outlook config though . . might be possible.

Subject: [THIN] Location of oulook.pst and mail config files

Hi,
I have noticed that when you startup Outlook 2000
and configure your personal file folder and mail configuration
the settings are stored in the folder:

c:\Documents and Settings\"username"\Local Settings\
   Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

The problem I am having is that if the user's profile
is set to roaming, the "Local Setings" folder is not saved
when the user logs off.

Does anyone have any recomendations as to where
the personal file folder filem, outlook.pst, and the mail
configuartion file should be stored in the case of a roaming
profile?

Is it possible to customize Outlook to specify a different
default location for both these files?

Thanks in advance,
Rich
