I can confirm this. One of our schools first foray's into the terminal server world we used the same model we did for a regular workstation lab. That is: We had a standard account that everybody logged into that matched the room name. So we tried the same thing with Citrix/Terminal Servers. (ie: account name 4501D) We had all of the problems described below and then some. Like only one user could open clipart in Word at a time. That was pretty difficult to swallow when the teacher asked everybody to open clipart as part of a lesson. We ended up creating workstation accounts ie: 4501D-01, 4501D-02, etc. and using mandatory profiles. -----Original Message----- From: Jeff Pitsch [mailto:jpitsch@xxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, October 11, 2004 12:54 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Licensing Theory? Hit that send button way too soon. The other problem you'll have is the users will use the same profile therefore affecting each other. Someone changes something in Word, the other users will be affected. Everyone will see each others printers, and possibly overwrite the other persons printers. In other words, your asking for a heap of trouble.
