function CTX_MF_IMA_Silent_StoreIMADBCredentials

Document ID: CTX107458, Created on: Aug 17, 2005, Updated: Aug 17, 2005
Products: Citrix MetaFrame XP 1.0 for Microsoft Windows 2000, Citrix MetaFrame
XP 1.0 for Microsoft Windows 2003

Symptoms

When upgrading or installing Citrix MetaFrame XP 1.0 Feature Release 3/Service
Pack 3 on a server that once ran an earlier version of MetaFrame, the following
error message is received:

?Cannot load dynamic link library XPConfigSupport.dll in function
CTX_MF_IMA_Silent_StoreIMADBCredentials?

Cause

The server being upgraded at one time ran either MetaFrame XP 1.0 Feature
Release 1/Service Pack 1 or MetaFrame 1.8 and there are still entries in the
system PATH environmental variable that point to an install inside the \WINNT
or %SYSTEMROOT% folders.

Resolution

Edit the system PATH environmental variable and remove all references to the
following:

? \WINNT\System32\Citrix\IMA

? \WINNT\System32\Citrix\IMA\Subsystems

? %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\Citrix\IMA

? %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\Citrix\IMA\Subsystems

Note that all the paths listed may exist in the PATH variable and there may
variants as well.

If you see this issue, it may be worthwhile to completely remove Citrix
MetaFrame from this server reinstall. If removal through the Microsoft
Installer does not work, then try a manual uninstall as detailed in CTX746354 ?
Best Practices and TroubleShooting Downgrade / Uninstall Issues With MetaFrame
1.8/XP .

More Information

The \WINNT folder noted above is the path containing the installations of the
Windows 2000 Server operating system. If this path was changed to another name
during the installation of the server operating system, the alternate name will
appear in the PATH variable instead of WINNT.
