Not sure about a registry entry, but when I usually see this is when a user
double clicks a .htm or .html file. One way to fix it is to go into the
associations for those filetypes and change it to something like this;
"c:\.......\iexplore.exe" %1
The %1 tells it to open the one file only.

I've seen a registry key for this one, but I can't seem to find the details.
It stopped IE opening multiple copies, and ensured that each request was
routed to the open copy of IE that was running.
Anybody able to help?
