Investigate ThinStation.sourceforge.net <- VERY good, and pretty easy to
configure with a floppy disk, or can be burnt on a CD.

There are documents on the site which should allow you to install it to the
desktop machine, or you can keep it on a CD for those occasions when you
rapidly need a few workstations in a hurry :)

Subject: [THIN] How to automatically log off when a TS sessioin ends

Hello,

We would like to use our old PCs as thin clients.

The application we are running on the terminal server, requires that the
logged on user be logged off (automatically) when they are done their
session. The problem is that when this happens, the user at the PC is left
with an empty desktop and no way to restart or reconnect to the server.

Can anyone think of a way to have the RDP client reconnect if the connection
is ended?

Here are a few things I have tried.

I made a .bat file, which I ran as the shell like this;

Start /wait default.rdp

Logoff /f /n

This worked except that

a) it leaves a command window open on the desktop and
b) the cancel button on the 'connecting to...' screen causes it to drop
to the desktop

I also tried to make a .vbs script which I might run in the background
watching for mstsc.exe to end, but it seems that when my connection ends,
mstsc,exe does not end.

If any one has any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

BM__MailAutoSigColin
