yes, you can do all of that.  But it's going to be tricky.  You have to
play around with where the icons get displayed.  There are settings in
the published app setup for adding icons to desktop etc.  There are also
separate ones in pnadmin.  Try playing around with those and see if you
can find the combination that does it.
 
You would be better off to find another way to get the icon for the
published desktop to your users.  After that, it's just a straight setup
of using pnagent to populate the published desktop.  Maybe just drop a
custom .ica file onto their desktop which connects them.

Dear All.. 

Does anyone have any idea whether it's possible to achieve both of the
following: 

1) Use PN Agent on the Citrix Published Desktop to deploy a 'dynamic'
desktop based on users app rights, but to not include the Published
Desktop itself.

2) Use PN Agent on the Client PC to use pass-through authentication and
deliver the icon for the Published desktop but NOT the rest of the
applications.
