You've put 4.0 thorugh a test environment right?

Option 1: Won't work. PS4 has a different DS schema than older versions

Options 2: Once your install a PS4 server into an existing farm the
DS is automatically upgraded (whether the PS4 is the DS server or not
in regards to access/MSDE). The only way back is to restore the DS
from before the installation.

Option 3: Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Good
luck with that one.

Test test test test test environment!!!!

SysTrack is the easiest to use, most complete way to monitor system and
application performance. SysTrack combines comprehensive monitoring
capabilities with hardware/software inventory, change management, user/web
auditing, and reporting to create a total management solution.
