Do you run SMS? If so, check for an update. Our DCOM errors went away
when we upgraded our SMS client running on the server.

I have an application that was running fine on my Citrix box for months
that suddenly started giving DCOM errors (Event ID 10009) along with
"RPC Server is unavailable". The support techs from the app vendor
haven't been successful in determining the cause and they're hesitant to
make significant changes to DCOM since that may break something else.
We've verified connectivity between the Citrix box and the SQL server
it's trying to connect to and the protocol settings match those on other
machines where the app is working okay.

What changed? Probably some MS patches. I've even uninstalled
applications added about the same time the errors began but that didn't
help.

Any suggestions?
