[THIN] Com Port Redirection W2K3

Putting together a new system and one of the requirements is com port
redirection on the client for equipment communication. I know the W2K added
com ports for printers but does W2K3 allow redirection like Citrix has for
some time by means of net use com1 \\client\com1
If it is possible, has anyone implemented it? Are there any issues?
