You don't need to install Ghost on the server... Simply create a Bart's PE
bootdisk. The BartPE site even has links where you can get plugins for the
IBM Raid drivers and Broadcom drivers.

Subject: [THIN] Re: Citrix server imaging

I've tried those command line switches in the RDP software and it didn't
work. HP won't support it because I'm trying it on IBM blades (their own
words). Ghost won't install on a Citrix server running 2003 Server due to
"unsupported Operating System". It appears as though I won't be able to
easily deploy a Citrix image to my 16 blades because nothing seems to want
to work. Isn't there a software out there that simply takes a disk image and
can drop it on exact hardware? What's the deal with all these switches and
things? If I can take an image perfectly fine, why is deploying so
bastardized?

To retain drive letters in Altiris (RDP) go to Advanced/Additional Options
under Distribute Disk Image and enter the following under Additional
command-line switches; -restoresig -szf

For Ghost add the switch -FDSP to the command line when you deploy the image
to make it retain the disk signature.

Drive remapping is based on disk signatures which are stored in the registry
key HKLM\SYSTEM\MountedDevices\

Subject: [THIN] Citrix server imaging

Anyone use any imaging software that works correctly with multi-partitioned,
drive-remapped Citrix servers? I've tried HP RDP, doesn't work; I'm trying
Acronis True Image Enterprise 9.1, not working (changes the S: drive to the
C: and the U: drive to the E: instead of preserving the drive letters
specified in the image). I can't seem to find a solution that works no
matter what the drive letters are or how many partitions there are. Thanks!
